Karen Cohen has been practising acupuncture for over 25 years and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council. She trained at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa, one of the first colleges to bring acupuncture to the UK. She has done further training in Chinese medicine, although Five Element acupuncture, remains her core practice. Karen is also a NLP Practitioner and has a strong background in Psychology.
She worked for many years at the Traditional Acupuncture Centre in Waterloo, eventually moving her practice to 132 Harley Street, seven years ago.
While Karen has a broad practice and enjoys the diversity this brings, she has developed a special interest and expertise in the treatment of fertility, IVF support, pregnancy, induction of labour and post natal care. She worked for many years, with a group of acupuncturists, as part of an emergency call out service, for the birth unit at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, until the unit closed in 2010.
Five element acupuncture treats at the emotional and physical level. And together with her NLP training, she finds it an effective and rewarding way of supporting people through the challenging issues that can often arise around fertility and pregnancy.
Karen also has a special interest in treating trauma, stress, anxiety and the emotional components underlying chronic illness.
Karen is listed in Tatler magazine’s top 250 best British private doctors.
